Providing quick digital access to public self-service, online banking and a variety of other private services, NemID has become an integral part of everyday life for many citizens and businesses in Denmark. The many transactions show that the Danes have really embraced and adopted the solution. This is further confirmed by the latest image survey from November 2015 which shows that most Danes are satisfied with NemID and trust the solution.
The survey shows that 85 percent of Danes are satisfied or very satisfied with NemID, compared with 78 percent in 2014. 81 percent of the population has confidence in NemID as a safe and practical solution (compared to 72 percent in 2014).
Increased satisfaction among the young
Today there are 4.5 million users of NemID, which is an essential key to 'Digital Denmark'. Topping the chart with as much as 89 percent satisfied users, the older generations are the most happy with NemID. Previously the young generations have been more sceptical; however, the new survey results suggest that satisfaction among young people between 18 and 29 years has increased over the last year. 82 percent of today's young people are satisfied or very satisfied with NemID, compared to 70 percent satisfaction in 2014. Just like last year, users express great satisfaction with the option to use NemID on mobile devices, something which young people use a lot. Overall, less than 2 percent of Danes are dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with NemID.
Increased use on mobile devices
Although the Danes still use NemID mostly for online banking, the use of NemID for public services has increased to 81 percent compared to 75 percent in 2014. This increase is particularly evident among the young. Compared with 2014, more Danes are now using NemID on smartphones and tablets. In 2015 28 percent of respondents used NemID via smartphone, compared with 21 percent in 2014.
