Assessment Corps to include IT security specialists

13-11-2015 News UK

The central government assessment corps, assisting the government Council for IT Projects with carrying out risk assessments of the central government's major IT projects and programmes, are looking to enhance the team with professional IT security experts.

The security experts in the corps will participate in risk assessments of IT projects, in which information security is a particularly important aspect. This has become even more relevant as, since April 2015, it has been mandatory to implement privacy and security risk assessments of all IT projects and programmes that follow the central government IT project model and the central government programme model.

Members of the Assessment Corps have the opportunity to strengthen their professional networks, gain insight into interesting government IT projects, participate in an annual academic day, and enhance their skills within project management.

Today the Corps consists of IT project managers from central government and private industry with extensive experience from large IT and development projects and programmes. There are approximately 35 members in the Corps who take turns, in agreement with their employer, to participate in approximately two-three risk assessments a year.
