Transition to the Data Distributor

Today basic data can be downloaded from a variety of public distribution channels, but as of 2017 all basic data will be available and distributed from the Data Distributor.

One of the main purposes of the Basic Data Programme is to modernise the distribution of public sector data. Today basic data can be downloaded from a variety of public distribution channels, but as of 2017 all basic data will be available and distributed from the Data Distributor. The current distribution channels will still be available for a period of time after 2017 to ensure a safe transition for the users.

By the second half of 2016, a range of basic data registers will become available on the Data Distributor, such as the Civil Registration and the Central Business Register. Thus, users of basic data must already today start preparing the transition to the Data Distributor.

Dialogue with the users
The transition from current distribution channels to the Data Distributor will vary depending on the type of user, but the Basic Data Programme is working to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.

Close dialogue and communication between the Basic Data Programme and the users are important elements in a safe transition process.

The Secretariat for the Basic Data Programme, which is located in the Agency for Digitisation in the Ministry of Finance, emphasises communication and the gathering of experience and inspiration in the field of basic data. We are thus always happy to hear from Danish and international actors in the field of basic data.
